Online blackjack tips?

Hi Cheryl :)

I'm a big blackjack fan myself, so I think I can give you a few tips.

The best thing you can do is learn the basic strategy for any blackjack game you choose to play. You can usually find these online pretty easily. They're typically in the form of a chart. These are particularly handy online since you can leave them minimized in the background and look at them if you are unsure of the perfect move.

Just remember to always play the best way you can! Intuition doesn't usually work out very well.

Oh wow, thank you glunn! I love this forum <33

I won't post links out of courtesy, but here are some good tips I found:

  • Hit 12 against 2 or 3
  • Always split 8s and aces
  • Double 11 except against A, double 10 except against 10 or A
  • Split 2s and 3s up to dealer 7
  • Split 6s up to dealer 6, split 7s up to dealer 7
  • Don't double 8 (I used to do this one a lot)
  • Double soft hands against crappy dealer cards

Hope that comes in handy for anyone :)

Good guide, cheryl! You've learned a lot pretty quickly :)

The important thing to remember is that, with each change of rules, comes a new optimal strategy. A single-deck game, for instance, has different strategy moves than you'd use in a four-deck game. Other variations like no hole card, no double after split, etc. change things up too.

But a quick google can give you all the answers you need.

Okay so, I'm currently playing mostly at Mr. Green Casino. Which blackjack game should I pick, or does it matter? Like, you mentioned that each game has a different strategy which makes sense to me, so which one has the best odds? Does that make sense?

Hi Cheryl :) ,

Yes, you're addressing the house edge of different blackjack games or the rate at which the casino will profit by playing each type of game. Here's an article about the best blackjack games on different casinos. This article also mentions the specific rules of each game.

With these rules, you can plug them into a blackjack strategy calculator, or search Google for them, to get your optimal strategy.

Mr. Green Casino uses Betsoft blackjack, so you should pick Single-Deck Blackjack. The strategy for single-deck is a bit more involved, so be sure to do a little looking around.

Hope that helped :D

and speaking of house edge, i know that side bets are sucker bets! use your bankroll for the main game only

Oh yes, how could I have forgotten to mention this? Thank you, klarissa!

Never ever ever make side bets. You'll lose your hat faster than you can say "sucker bet".
