US raises the debt ceiling (FINALLY)

CNN -- The Senate passed a compromise bill to raise the U.S. debt ceiling. President Obama signed the measure, calling it "an important first step."

 

I don't live in the USA but this has been interesting to watch. it's scary to think that such a big nation could just ruin itself financially in a day. god knows what would happen.

lol gotta love politicians. it takes them until the day where we're all going to be screwed to do something.

 

i haven't read all the details of the bill but it seems like there's a lot of stuff in it to anger a lot of people. pity they couldn't get their act together in time and put together something more reasonable.

it sounds to me like they need to get rid of the debt ceiling. if it's going to cause them to default.
