Seeds in progressive slots

Hi,

 

I've been wondering how seeds are implemented in the RTP. If one player takes a jackpot right after another, the seed value is paid by the operator, since the players did not have time to contribute enough. This may increase the RTP in an unpredictable manner. Or is there a way for the operators to take that into account when calculating the RTP?

Hi there and welcome to Askgamblers forum. 

 

Firstly, the RTP of a game, any game, is fixed...it does not change with time. What fluctuates is the actual RTP of the players, basing on the current play completed. Winning a jackpot or two would push the player's RTP to greater heights, way above the indicated RTP of that game, but it doesn't change the game's RTP.

 

Secondly, all calculations for RTP are done automatically, so there isn't any intervention from the casino or the game provider.

Thank you for the answer. Let's consider Mega Moolah. Some part of each bet goes to the biggest jackpot, and it grows cent by cent. Then eventually someone takes it. However, the value is not reset to 0, but to 1M. Where did this million come from? How can it be included in the RTP?

All jackpot prizes have a minimum reset (starting) amount, to which it would be reset after someone wins the jackpot. With Mega Moolah, the minimum prize is set at 1 million. With other jackpots, the minimum reset amount varies.

 

Like I have said earlier on, the RTP of the game doesn't change, even right after someone wins the jackpot, but the player who wins the jackpot would have an incredible RTP for that win. However, the player's RTP may start from scratch again the following day, upon resuming play, or it may continue from the last recorded RTP, depending on each casino's system.

 

Jackpot wins are already precalculated and included in any RTP of any game. This actual daily RTP is not known to players, probably not to the casinos too, but the game provider's server keeps all the records on the game, including all jackpot wins. What it means is that it is very unlikely for a big jackpot like Mega Moolah to be won again within a very short period of time, because a big jackpot win would have reduced the overall RTP of the game, so it needs to recover back to regain its preset RTP!

 

Small jackpots, like RTG's randomly triggered jackpots for example, doesn't affect the overall RTP by any significant amount.

Oh yes...you're correct my dear!

 

I can remember something like that...like 2 or 3 times in that particular year...2015 or 2016, if I'm not mistaken...but that was an exceptional year, I think. However, it would be good to have some sort of reference point on big jackpots like Mega Moolah, Hall Of The Gods, Mega Fortune...and even on Divine Fortune, which seems to be won quite frequently!
