How to restrain oneself?

Hi all

 

About 2 weeks ago I made a thread about playing for fun, but that wasn't satisfactory, so I decided to play with low stakes to try and learn how the games act, even better. I started with about 300 dollars, and after 10 days without a losing session and a balance of about 1500 dollar. That losing session came today. I had about 500 dollars on my casino account and I had withdrawn 1000 dollars to my skrill account. I lost the 500 dollars in my account and I should have just quit after that, but I didn't. I deposited 500 and lost it, then I deposited the last 500 and lost that aswell.

 

I think the reason I did so good these past 10 days is because I restrained myself to one session a day, which I should have also done today. I should have taken the loss, and started fresh tomorrow.

 

This seems to be a returning pattern. I spend several days with positive sessions, and then I have 1 losing session and there goes the domino effect. 

 

This has to be the hardest lesson to learn in gambling, and I hope I do learn it soon. It seems I have overcome greediness these past weeks. Now I just need to learn how to lose.

 

Does anybody have any advice or tips on how to learn this?

It's not your deposits or your luck it's the simple fact that very few people play on Mondays and Tuesdays in casinos. Why do you think I started playing only for the weekends. It's very simple, 9 out of 10 times I lose during the week and even when I win the wins are small. On the other hand during the weekend when there are a lot more players in the casino and a lot more cash flow it's much easier to win and the wins are much bigger. So don't play during the week if you want to be ahead

Once you win enough call it a day and come back tomorrow. Making your self greedy would only result to loses. Also I like the observation that during week days due to few people play at casino their is a small amount of available cash to be won.

I recently discovered Stargames and their Novomatic slots!!  I have never played these slots in actual gaming halls - I feel hooked now. loL!

My favorite atm is probabaly Book of Ra but they have other  games. After a period of busting out I finally managed to start making some good cash but not sure how long i´ll continue to be this lucky

Dear sorenjo I am not the right person to answer your question. I wasn't able to restrain myself most of time even I needed and wanted my winning on my e-wallet.Sometimes I chase BIG WINS,sometimes its adrenaline and I simply can't stop. Plus, gambling is highly addictive and makes you want to play more and more. I think its all individual and you must get in control of your game play if you want to restrain.Not an easy task, don't you agree.

Placing low bets during week days, okay, I might agree but after we do some real math and research. 

 

Once you trigger BIG WIN or SUPER MEGA WIN and it pays peanuts, it feels terrible to me, then I think of my low stake. I personally place low stakes only if I play with limited bankroll of in other words if I am broken
