marathon
Hi guys I am sorry if that topic has been covered alot, As a BJ and roulette player (mostly) I have not used slots much, but some free spins spured my interest. I played some Starburst, Gonzo and few others (mostly free spins). My winnings have been forgettable:) I recently received 10'0 free spins on piggy riches and won incredibly 1.40 in total....that was a waste of time. However, my question is how you play such games? Games like Starburst and others: Do you watch the reels and stop if you think there is a favorable piece coming along? I tried to "hit" the stop at the right time to get a starburst or on other games the bonus round symbol. Seldom any luck. Of course Gonzo etc do not have a stop feature, but he is mean anyway. Is it better to play fewer rounds with higher wager or small wager and more rounds? Thanks for your tips and ideas...
Awena
Hello Marathon and welcome to AskGamblers* I see your wonders and there is no answer to your question, at least, you can't predict win. It all depends on your luck and software algorithm. No matter the fast you literally win nothing in Piggy Riches, that game would make smarter choice then Starbust. Gonzo's Quest is cool and comes with descent paytable. There is no strategy plus no strategies are allowed so you could only breach T&C's and get in a trouble instead of having fun Cheers cocopop3011
Awena
Let me add, no matter if we stop reels, the final outcome is already predicted.
raverbabe
Hey Marathon, I think you will quickly find that slots are much more fun on-line than blackjack and roulette, but I do really enjoy playing those games in my local casino. Forget about trying to find any kind of strategies though - the games are completely random and there is no way to influence the outcome of a spin, all you can do is start the reels and hope for the best!About your Piggy Riches win, did you mean you played 10 spins or 100? I'm sure you couldn't have won just 1.40 from 100 spins but your post wasn't completely clear. Piggy Riches isn't a bad game, much better than Starburst and more generous in my experience than Gonzos Quest but there are plenty of better games around that you should try - have you heard of Dead or Alive ?Which casino are you playing at? I'd be happy to give a few suggestions if you would like

You need to take some time trying out lots of games and the best way to do this is by taking no deposit bonuses so you can play before investing your own cash. You'll start to get a feel of the games you like and the games you don't like. What games I like could be the total opposite for you so I always try to advise new players to try as many games as you can. After a while you'll start getting to grips with how they work. But at the end of the day it is all down to luck but you'll soon start to discover which games work best for you. Start with small wagers, don't jump straight in at the deep end and bet big because I can assure you your balance will go downhill and fast. If after you've learned how they work you want to bet big and you feel comfortable doing so then do it. You'll soon know when you can though. Good luck and come back and let us know which games you like.
marathon
Hi thanks for your replies. I meant indeed 100 spins on piggy riches. I guess I should have stopped in the middle to try another day, as the luck fairy must have had a day off. I also did not mean a strategy (or cheat) that goes against T&C, just wanted to know your approach. Okay, apparently stopping the spins does not help. Are you saying that the outcome is the same if I stop it in the middle or let it run?? Do you stop playing a slot if you don't get anything decent after 20 spins and change the slot? I will then take your advice and start with small bets to learn about the slots. DoA seems to be a game that is often mentioned here, I give it a try. Played Avalon II a bit, which was fun and a bit story based (if you get the bonus rounds). Any other slots to recommand? I play mostly Casumo, Cashmio and Netbet Casino Thanks for your experience, m
raverbabe
Absolutely, hitting the stop button in the middle of a spin has absolutely no effect on the final outcome. I know it's nice to think you have a little control but think about it - if there was any element of skill involved it would open the floodgates for cheaters using software tools or other means to force a win possibly by slowing the game down or something like that. It's just not realistic to expect a game to work that way. I do sometimes stop and change game if I haven't hit anything good within a hundred spins or so, but sometimes I like to keep playing with the idea that I must be "due" something good soon! Neither approach is backed up by any sound mathematical thinking however - it simply doesn't matter which game you play or how many spins you put through it, over the long term your results will be the same. Avalon 2 is a fun game but I hate the fact you have to play through all the various bonus rounds in sequence. Playboy Thunderstruck 2 and The Finer Reels of Life are similar games that allow you to choose your favourite feature each time the scatters drop which suits me much better. Casumo and Cashmio are great casinos, NetBet not so much. I also recommend trying Videoslots, they are my current favourite.
