SOS! GrandRio turns into financial problems!

Recommended Posts

Curacao certainly isn't the best licensing jurisdiction around but it is used by lots of trustworthy casinos so don't write anywhere off based on that fact alone. If I didn't get my 20k from any on-line casino i think I'd probably pack it on all together... that would just be too much for me to cope with. I pray you get your money vtyyppi

you are right. the majority of casinos operated from there is trustworthy. however: if they change their policy and turn rogue - you have a jurisdiction which doesnt act...

so. better solid jurisdictions. there are enough top notch casino in jurisdictions which are worth to be called jurisdiction at all. :-)

I have to admit, that I knew that there is differences between casino licenses and how trustworthy they are in real places. After this win I have to say, avoid all Curaçao licensed casinos! There is the thing if you play with small bets and your winnings are small, it is easier to get your winnings out. If you are very lucky or your bets are larger and you win big, the probability that casino turns out rogue also get bigger.

After this case, I have to say, that if you are aiming to win big (or you want to be sure, that if you win big you really get your money out) avoid casinos which have only Curaçao license. And avoid all the casinos which have small withdrawal limits like 1000 euros per day or 5000 euros per month!  and avoid all the casinos that have some excuse to pay you, like 24 hour waiting period before they starts to process withdrawals or verification documents processing time could take 24 hour. They are signals that in real places (the big win) there is larger probability that you are not getting your money out.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still no luck to find the persons behind GrandRio. Curaçao eGaming replied me that they never licensed this group! So it seems that the Curaçao eGaming licence (8048/JAZ2014-010), what they claimed to have, was fake!

IP address and name server lookups seems to be dead ends. But I have to try to get some information out from egamings.com. http://whois.uanic.name/eng/grandrio.com/ and websiteoutlook.com both have information about egamings.com. GrandRio Casino used egamings.com's name servers.  http://grandrio.com.websiteoutlook.com/ says that "Author" is Egamings.

This Egamings company pops out every where. Microgaming said that Microgaming games was reselled to GrandRio by Mirax Limited ltd. What I did not find from Internet. After several emails, Microgaming gave me contact information to this mystical Mirax. Both email addresses was to Egamings. I emailed them. And all the responses were from mirax gmail address. (Gmail address does not look like very professional...) Mirax still says, that only contact to GrandRio is supports email address.

So all roads leads to Egamings now... It seems quite impossible to me that they can get Internet Casino up and working only by contacting companies via [email protected] without companies knowing their real names!

I think it's time to contact some authority and take legal actions as what happened to you is basically internet fraud. Remember the RTG casinos group that  ended up behind bars by the FBI? I don't think you will find anything on your own and you won't get your winnings at this point.

Thanks, hajnrih! I will send this case to FBI. I will also collect the whole case and information about Microgaming, Egamings, Softgamings and put this out to the reddit users also. And top of that I will try to connect international news agencies about this if some one gets interested.

Oh my, that takes the cake... I suspect if a casino were to list a fake Alderney or Gibraltar/UKGC license then those authorities would be much more likely to take action. The first they probably heard of this fake license was when you told them about it I'd wager.

Wish I knew how to help you track them down but hopefully somebody here will be able to help you.

Actually, I don't believe FBI would help much here, simply because our forum friend vtyypi is from Finland.

Perhaps submitting a formal complaint in front of European Cybercrime Centre is a better idea to start with.

https://www.europol.europa.eu/ec3

I noticed that. If you want to use that FBI Complaint system, victim or suspect of crime has to be from US.

I have contacted now to CasinoVino. And I will check if this route gets me closer...

Phiro, unfortunately I don't know what to do with that company informartion. In that same address there is dozens of different companies registered. Some other internet casinos and much more other companies. It seems when company called Softgamings build casinos for customers many of the casinos have same kind of back company structure. And at least three casinos is registered to that address in Edinburgh. All are LP companies (limited partnership) probably created that nobody can not find out true owners of those companies/casinos. I'm trying to connect that Softgamings by Skype and Email, but no answers. Softgamings and Egamings are both from Riga. And same people are working in both companies.

Yes the address is a maildrop, similar to the infamous 145-157 St Johns Street London that seems popular with all kinds of scams. Places like companies warehouse offer to forward your mail from such an address and the services are popular as some feel it gives their business more prestige, others use it as a wall to hide behind. I don't know of an easy way to find out where the mail is really going sadly...

You could serve small claims papers on them, it's likely you'll obtain a judgement but I don't know if you stand any chance of getting your money back as they'll probably liquidate soon enough. Still, if you did this you may well be able to cause them an extra headache or two for their next scam business venture.

I think, that I made some kind breakthrough here. I think, it is better now that I don't write more about this. I have to check how this continues. Let's hope, that I can come back and write that this is solved. If that does not happen, I will write what I found.

  • 1 month later...

I'm done now. After more than three months of trying the legal department of the company which made Grandrio site for the casinos operator replied me. They told me that I cannot publish any information about their replies, because that could be bad for they business. And they threatened many ways to take legal actions if I share information.

I won't get my money out.

I decided to close my all casino accounts permanently and end my game playing.

For you all. Check very carefully the background of the casinos where are you playing. If you are aiming to the big wins, trust only old big casinos. If casino pays out quickly small wins, that does not automatically say that casino is secure when you try to withdraw a lot of money. Avoid casinos which have small withdrawal limits per week/month. If something seems odd with the casino, close the account and choose another one. Check the casino licence and check if something goes wrong you really get support from licencing authority!

If you didn't sign and Non Disclosure Agreement with them you can publish whatever you want. This shows how weak the legal side of this industry really is. Sorry it turned out the way it did.
