Luciana Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Good evening darlings Just a quick info, for those who haven't heard - The Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta (known as LGA) changed it's name into Malta Gaming Authority - MGA.If anybody doesn't know, it's independent body responsible for both online and land-based gaming activities, by issuing them a proper licences.Together with the new name, MGA is proudly presenting their new logo and website! So far, they are miles behind UKGC or Isle of Man's Gambling Supervision Commission in their efforts to provide online gamblers with fast, efficient and fair complaints resolution process. Slow is the key word when it comes to the level of players protection offered by MGA so far. Not so sure about their efficiency either to be honest as I used their service twice back in 2009 and 2010 and in both cases their final decisions had nothing to do with the fair outcome. The funny moment was that one of these complaints I had with MGA was later resolved successfully by Gambling Grumbles and the other one by our own AskGamblers. In the name of the truth, some players report they have significantly increased their speed for complaints resolution process, however I'm afraid nothing has changed that much for the way they form their final decisions. Actually, I don't remember even one case where player reported they judged in his/her favor. So, you could draw your own conclusions I guess... According to their policy (which is now maybe different), they need up to 6 months to decide about your case. Anyway, it's hardly achieved in the practice and I'm sure that's not because they don't want to be faster, but they probably receive sooo many new cases everyday, justified or just unjustified complaints from all over the Europe. Have just checked their Facts Sheet and it made me feel I'm totally right to say that.
