Hi folks,

Have just received and industry news that United Kingdom Gambling Commission is about to postpone the new gambling legislation coming into force with a month. Here's the complete announcement:

  • Due to a High Court challenge, DCMS will be taking the necessary steps to postpone this legislation coming into force until 1 November 2014.  This will allow a judgment to be made without undue time pressure.

Why? Sorry I haven't read the article! Does it say why this decision was made?

This pretty much confirms what nextcasino just told me - that the date has been moved from October 1st to November 1st.

They seem a bit unsure themselves about how long it will take them to get the licence, but assured me they have applied.

I'm assuming this postponement is due to the amount of applicants and the processing time is taking longer than expected?

Yep, I suppose you are totally right. UKGC just wants to be 100 per cent sure that everything will be done as it should be, in a timely manner and without any compromises of course.
