non-deposit bonus vs. deposit related bonus

Recommended Posts

at Treasure Island online casino I made a deposit  and bought  into a tournament.  Now they  claim that my winnings came from a non-deposit bonus of which the maximum withdrawal amount is $150  I think that I bought into the the blackjack tournament with my own deposited money  should make it a deposit related bonus, allowing a maximum withdrawal of $2000 per week. Which do you think is right?

If they are right why pay to get into a tournament in which you win the money won is just considered a bonus with an 10,000 times play through. The thing is that the

the very definition of bonuses is:

:a sum of money granted or given to

:something given, paid, or received above what is due or expected:

:something free, as an extra dividend, given by a corporation to a purchaser of its securities.

:a premium paid for a loan, contract, etc.

:something extra or additional given freely:

I had to pay, and then win this money first, it wasent given to me. I can understand their rules of 10,000 times play through to cash out , but don't tell me it was a bonus! Why not just call anything won at these "casinos" a bonus so they dont have to pay you.

Hey James :)

I'm not sure if I understood you completely, but you made your deposit in order to participate in Blackjack tournament?

What happened next, have you played that tournament or how did you won your money, they turned into no deposit bonus winnings?

I made a deposit, and paid to enter into a blackjack tournament. Before it started I lost all of my deposit money, but then won $12 from the blackjack tournament. If had something like a 32 X play through which I made, plus about $400. When I went to cash out they only want to give me $100 because they say it was a bonus.

Thanks for your advise

Okay I'm with you - up until a certain point.

So you deposited money which used to enter the Blackjack tournament. You said "before it started you lost all your deposit money" was this on blackjack or slots? And also when you deposited did you accept an original bonus from them?

After you lost all your money, was the 12 you won as a result of the blackjack tournament (I.e winnings incurred through your actual deposit) or was this given to you by the casino after you lost all your money?

If you could answer just these questions I'm sure we would be able to offer you some further help on the situation.

Thanks James

Look forward to hearing from you

Does it matter if I lost my deposit money on Blackjack or slots? I think I lost it on everything, slots, table games, etc. Dont remember of winning 1 hand that day, or slot... but yes I think you got it, I bought into the tournament while I still had money (I think it was only like 25cents to get into) It was not given to me. According to them, it doe sent matter either way. Plus I didn't know if you won one of these tournaments there is play through, I thought it would be like winning at a holdem table. Here is their reply after I questioned them on it...

Thank you for your email.

If a player won using monies that he/she won from a tournament (and every other that are considered non-deposit bonuses), the player is only allowed to withdraw up to a maximum of $150.

I hope this clarifies.

Hahaha...what picture did you have? Can we see it?

No..it doesn't matter whether you spent it on slots or blackjack I was just being nosey there lol :D :D

Oh...I see now! I don't play in tournaments myself but we do have people here that do. I always assumed money won from a tournament would not be classed as a bonus but real money - but as I said I really don't know enough about tournaments to be able to comment to be honest.

I am sure other forum members will be here soon to help you though,

As far as i know, all prizes awarded at such tournaments, whether freeroll or with buy-ins, are NOT REAL CASH money! All prizes won from the tournament have wagering requirements to be fulfilled before any REAL winnings can be withdrawn. Withdrawals for winnings derived from tournaments have a low maximum withdrawal limit too, usually similar to no-deposit bonuses limits. Hence, I never liked them!

Those tournaments are miles apart from any real money tournaments. All prizes are real cash prizes, wager-free, and can be immediately withdrawn, because you can only play in such tournaments with real money deposits. No buy-ins stuff. No freerolls either.

I had won a few prizes in freerolls and buy-in tournaments when I was still active at RTG and Microgaming casinos, but have never cashed out any winnings from those wins...because the wagering requirements killed them all!
