Gambling Questionnaire

To be honest, I don't like this type of questionnaires for several reasons.

1. I doubt gambling habits and facts has anything in common with high school or university education, unless some psychiatry is involved. That makes me think we don't know the whole truth, we don't know who and for what purpose is going to deal with all the gathered data. As klarissa has mentioned, we had a student from Philippines a few months ago, presenting almost the same questionnaire (if not the same) and when I asked to send me a copy of the project , which need gambling related data, guess if I ever received something? :D

2. Has anyone of you ever met a questionnaire, made for casino managers or representatives? Why we are supposed to be the only target group, and what if we want to learn more about thе habits and patterns in behaviour of the casino staff? ;)

3. And finally, if it has to be a real gambling related questionnaire, why we are supposed to asnwer such stipid questions, as Black has mentioned? :p

Hey, I am studying psychology. The data is not to be used in I am trying to create a questionnaire looking at online gambling behaviours amongst the adult population to test the validity of this questionnaire against other questionnaires and whether it is a good method to use.

I am also looking at the gaming population aswel considering these issues. The left handed and right handed is just to see if this effects results in any way and to make sure that we know alot about our sample and it is representative of the general population.

Also my lecturer actually works with online gambling websites and gambling companies, bookies etc to find ways to help prevent problem gambling, I'm not sure if they conducted their research through questionnaires but have gathered information on through case studies and interviews.

But obviously you don't have to fill out the questionnaire at all if you dont like any aspect of it.

Hi heera :)

Don't take it personally dear. I just shared my opinion about this sort of questionnaires, that's all. And would gladly take part of your project, since you are studying psychology! ;)

And don't forget to share the results with us, when the project is over, ok? :D
