Question about starting an online 'raffle'...

Hi all, Im new here.

Found the forum as Im interested in learning more about online raffles and looking for any advice!

 

I build websites, community based sites to be specific.

 

Im currently working on one that is a real social site, chat rooms, games, chat roulette, etc etc... focus on fun and friends!

 

I was thinking about some kinda members pool where each month a lucky site member gets the pool fund!

Site would keep a small portion of it to maintain the site and develop etc... but most would go to winner/s

 

I was thinking 2 ways to do this and wanted to know if anyone knows the legal side to either?

 

1 - charge for a raffle ticket. The pool grows depending on how many tickets are sold.

2 - charge for site membership, then have a free monthly draw for site members randomly

3 - as above but winner based on some skill competition...

 

Its all just for fun, but could be a nice bonus for a member each month.

Any ideas on whats legal and whats not? Site would be UK owned, hosted on USA servers if that makes a difference...!

Unfortunately, I doubt you will manage to find much help or feedback, concerning your site project here. Anyway, I would use the time here to learn more about the gambling world if I was in your shoes!
