How can I find out which regions in India have illegal gambling activities? Are there specific laws or regulations that vary by state?

Landbased casinos are legal in states of Goa and Sikkim. Daman a union territory also allows landbased casinos. Online casinos can be played anywhere apart from Telangana. Maximum states dont prohibit online gambling. States like Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab, Chandigarh (UT),  Sikkim and Nagaland have allowed gambling by law. State lotteries are allowed in most states.

One very important point to be noted is that profit/earnings from Gambling related activities has 30% tax. This means gambling is not illegal in India and the winnings have to be disclosed.
