polopp
I wanted to prevent myself from playing on a casino, but didn't want to freeze the account, so I placed a daily $1 play limit. The next day I came back and out of habit started playing a slot at $2/spin before I realized a few spins in that I should be barred from doing so. I went to my settings, and saw there was an error with the limit. I contacted support, who said they were having technical issues with the limits. This got me thinking, what would happen if I won/lost a significant amount of money in this situation? I feel like it would be one of those lose-lose situations where if you lose, the casino doesn't refund because you shouldn't be playing, but if you win, the wins are confiscated because you shouldn't be allowed to play. Does anyone have experience with this, and what is the common/regulator consensus for these situations?
ValDes
Hey there and welcome to AskGamblers Forum Usually, the operator would have special clause/s in their terms which is covering situations like the one you described. Needless to explain this clause defends the operator's interests of course. Here's one typical example of such clauses: Quote The Company is not liable of any hardware or software, defects, unstable or lost Internet connections, or any other technical errors that may limit player’s access to the Website or prevent player from an uninterrupted play. Casino is not liable for damage and/or losses to an Account Holder and/or a third party caused directly and/or indirectly due to mistake, misprint, misinterpretation, mishearing, misreading, mistranslation, spelling mistake, fault in reading, transaction error, technical failure, technical hazard, registration error, manifest error, cancellation of a game for any reason, Force Majeure and/or any other similar event, failure of casino central computer system or any part thereof; delays, losses, errors or omissions resulting from failure of any telecommunications or any other data transmission system. Still, if we talk about a reputable operator, I tend to believe they will always find a way to provide a fair compensation.
