I just rang the number and they confirmed it was true and that because of the amount of people they are replying to it could take time and asked me to be patient and they will refund the balance they said they owe me
Check your bank for any strange activities or direct debits set up until you know for sure if it's real or fake, I got to be honest tho it does look genuine and you've have rang them and they also said it's genuine then a good chance it is but just be safe and keep checking. If it's fake then the person you spoke to needs sacking
Sorry jsans I tried replying but still learning, I would keep checking your bank for any unusual activities and check if any direct debits have been set up that you don't know about to be on safe side until you are 100% sure it's genuine, I ain't giving my details till I get contacted by phone as I got a feeling it's all fake
Just been on another forum which other people are talking about receiving the same email and are being warned it's more likely to be a scam and do not give your bank details, although it maybe is a scam why did 888 say over phone to someone that the email was genuine
The details they ask for are account and sort code with bank name, which if I'm buying something online I've always had to give long card number and security number but when I make transfers to friends or family then I only need their account and sort code which is all these are asking for. I guess all we can do is wait for them to respond and I hope it's true because the figure they gave me will pay for a small holiday lol
I got an auto response yesterday saying my reply had been forwarded to the security department for them to review it and that someone will be in touch in the next 72 hours, will post on here if I get response from them
I've done some research into what's happening and I haven't come across any reports about these being false emails, I received an auto reply from them saying somebody will respond after within the next 72 hours which I've seen this email before when they requested my I.d before paying out but still not trusting it until I get a phone call
I've just received the same email but I'm reluctant to give my bank details by email so I replied with my phone number asking them to contact me with some of my security details which they should have to validate the authenticity of the email they sent and when they do then I will pass on my details maybe
