Faryt187
Need legal advice? I have concern regarding my account in Karamba website because i have been in touch with them only a few hours ago because i keep having gaming issues but i just thought maybe it was just my internet connection or something, the live chat wasn’t available at the time so i thought, i’ll look it up online whilst i wait for their response. I have then found out that Karamba is prohibited to access in France. Which then triggered some alarm bells no wonder why no matter how long i spend playing and the thousands i have deposited doesn’t give me any returns i mean jackpots which in my experience in the past with other sites you win something atleast now and again. I have been in France since january and not even a euro back to my bank account. I have reached a platinum status now and not once have i been notified that it is prohibited to access my account in France. If i had known from the start i wouldn’t have wasted all those time and money but could have invested it elsewhere instead. I have checked my other UK account on other sites when i found out but they would not even let me pass log in stage as its restricted to here and some i can log in but not make deposits or play as errors comes up or notifications about it. Basically it tells me i cannot play so here comes my argument now i was finally anlw to chat with someone. Respose are: i’m registered VIP in the UK the IP address doesn’t pop up straight away (if not immediately upon accessing my account and making deposits, how long should i be playing before the IP address and what do they do about it, because i had spent hours continuosly playing and they never have notified me that i shouldn’t be playing at all, tho she did offer to maybe they Might have to escalate the fact that i am a uk resident currently living in france as i might be getting some gsme issues because they don’t support players from france anymore) It is my responsibility to inform them of my change of address (noted but this is not my main concern, i wanted to know how/why they allow me access in the first place when they should have stopped me playing there and there when it registers i’m using french IP address. I wanted information in their T’s&C’s saying that despite i am in a prohibited country they will allow me access in my account and that is my sole responsibility to know that and will accept deposits also from a prohibited IP address allowing me to play for hours without them stopping me as i should not be playing in the first place) From karamba’s side as i you are a registered player and created your account in the UK, you are allowed to play but now you are living in france we will need to double check with our compliance department and we will get back to you (basically what they’re saying because i told them i should be prohibited to play then they would reconsider if they going to allow me to play of not anymore it does not matter how much deposits i made while in france they just take the money just like that because they allowed me to play and at no point from then until now that they would have given me such options only when i have lost thousands without a single penny back. Having been gambling for a long time, i understand that you sometimes win probably lose more but i think it should be in a fair way given fair odds. I cannot just accept that because they allow me to play in a prohibited country that known gaming issues should be ok lowering my odds to none and they are not responsible for anything at all, like notifying me or even putting restriction on my access. I just think i was mislead to play and they just wash their hands clean making me feel really stupid) I might not get my money’s worth but i’m hoping i have a stand on this that they would be willing to find a fair solution for me. I just didn’t want them to get back to me saying that they hsve decided to close my account just like that. This is why i am asking for advice in how to go about this not really knowing all the legalities with online gambling and never really was in a position like this before. Any words of advice will be really appreciated. Thank you
Afi4wins
Hi, and welcome to Askgamblers forum. This is indeed a tricky situation, Fary, but lets get some things straightened out first. You are saying that you were in the UK when you registered at Karamba Casino, but have since moved over to France now. Unfortunately, I am also restricted from playing at Karamba, so I cannot comment much about the casino. However, there have been other instances whereby a person's nationality became an issue and that person was restricted from playing at that particular casino. In your case, it is now the other way around - it's not your nationality that has become the issue, but the country where you are currently residing in. Well, it looks like the casino may have to decide what to do with your situation, but if going by T&Cs, where you reside may affect your eligibility to play, meaning, if you're in France, then you should be restricted from playing at the casino. On the other hand, I too have a few other existing accounts at casinos where my country was originally not restricted, but the current situation has it that it's now a restricted country. Whenever I want to make a deposit, a message would pop up indicating that the casino no longer allow players from my country to play with real money, so I am not able to make any deposits. However, a few other casinos do not have this pop-up warning message and I could still make deposits if I wanted to, but since I already knew that my country has become restricted, I dare not make any new deposits there. Karamba Casino should have this warning message for newly restricted players, but then again, I'm not familiar with the casino. From what you have said, I gather that there isn't any such warning messages, which makes the casino not being responsible enough. Well, I cannot say more than this...but maybe someone else can give you better advice.
