Using Bitcoin as a US resident?

Wondering if any of you are from the USA and use bitcoin casinos.  I have Googled the legality of even using bitcoin itself and it seems there is no real answer.  Does anyone ever have an "issue" funding a bitcoin wallet from their bank account?  Thanks for any ideas.

My only comment about your question is read carefully T&C on the casino you want to play because USA is a restricted country in most casinos.

As for bitcoins in USA, I know Mike Tyson sells bitcoins in Las Vegas in speciall ATM machines located firstly in land based casinos, and there is also a Visa card to withdraw bitcoins into dollars in ATM's, but this later is only for some states in your country, not in the entire USA. Sorry, that's all I know.

Good luck and welcome to Askgamblers   :)

It's pitty that USA is restricted from the best online casinos providing Microgaming, NetEnt, WMS and many more. Is it because landbased casino afraid of the competition with online gaming providers? With the reputation of the online gaming I think they should.

I know there a lot more land based casino in the USA than all European countries combined. If more people play online I'm guessing that land based casinos will become less popular, less visited and in the end they have to close their doors and lots and lots of people will lose their jobs. So, I think it's good that USA is restricted from a lot of online casinos, at least from an economic point of view.

Thanks to everyone so far - I do appreciate input.  I know that online gambling isn't supposed to be legal in most of the US, but I was more concerned about bitcoin itself being legal here too.  Now that bitcoin is an option, being anonymous allows US residents to play, in theory.  There is no issue finding online bitcoin casinos to accept US players.

So the country you're playing from would also remain anon?

Good question.  I assume the country would not be anonymous if they know your IP, just the person's actual identity.

That's right, and I guess casinos have no problem with that because how could US government to confiscate bitcoins since they're supossed to be untraceable.

I think it shouldn't be any problems at all since it is indeed anonymous.
