WHEN THE ODDS REBEL AGAINST YOU

In the following screenshot taken after spending my last dime on balance, I was betting "only" on Punto (player - blue) in Punto Banco or Baccarat game (one of my favorite games):

 

 

At the time of such tragic event (27 Banco vs. 9 Punto outcomes - 75% vs. 25%), my collected earnings exceeded 60% of my deposit (which fortunately was only $ 50), but again, the reason for my defeat was that I didn't stick completely to my own rules, in other words "INDISCIPLINE".

 

In an "even game" as it is the baccarat game, as well as in others like roulette (black/red, even/odd and 1-18/19-36) and blackjack, the almost impossible events also happen sooner or later, and here there is no one to blame, not the casino or the dealer that I watched while he was shuffling the cards.

 

Just wanted to share this, it may be useful to you at some point of doubt and uncertainty; most of the times Lady Luck needs a little help from you.

Hi coco, this game has even chances, almost 50/50 for banker and players sides, as you see in the picture you will see more banker (red) outcomes than players (blue) in a ratio of 3:1 (you would expect 1:1) but this shouldn't be a problem if I had applied my stop loss rules, or another rule I made about not to stick to just one outcome (player - blue in this case) instead of follow the trend; what I want to stress here is that I lost because I was not sticky to my own rules not only because of a bad streak; hence, posting this here I intend other players learn from my mistake so they may be more disciplined and follow their own playing rules in order to be a more successful gambler. Further, by posting this here, I also want to commit myself to follow my own rules like clockwork.

Oh man, I know exactly what you mean. It should be 1:1, but 3:1 seems to last forever, like there is a flaw in the game. And the next time you start to play on banker, and  the opposite happens. It makes you wonder about why this happened. How big are the chances such a longlasting bad streak can occur, just when you start playing on this particular table from all worldwide baccarat tables available? How cruel randomness can be!

Hahaha, yes man, you got it. It is rare, and I must add "it happened at the right moment I decided to bet only on player", I usually don´t stick to one side, and before start with only players bets I was betting other things, like singletons and so on. That's gambling!.

      Yeah indiscipline is the worst thing that can happen... I usually bet on the 50-50s in roulette and this sort of thing happens...one that I can remember clearly was my second session when there were 5 consecutive red numbers... I was so sure that the next one was going to be black that I bet all I had on it then.....

 

     Have never played baccarat on real money but I usually mix things up, don't you think sticking to one (either the player or the banker) is risky?

Hi Coolivert, I also like roulette and I can tell you I've seen up to 14 black outcomes in a row, so imagine if you get stuck on red, mainly if you use negative progressions as martingala, Labouchere or another one. Yes I consider risky you bet on just one side, I try to find any trend to follow, but what I am convinced is you should bet your own feelings and strategies obviously if they have worked well to you in your tests. By the way, if you like even bets on roulette try to play french roulette because there casino edge is lower, almost as lower as it is in baccarat.

WOW 14 in a row!!! So far, I'm on the fence and don't use "strategies or systems" because it's hard for me to understand how someone can come up with a strategy for random stuff... why I prefer Roulette is that if am having a bad run on R/B bets I can switch to either the H/L or even/odd bets
