casinoblisters
Many Greeks are protesting the government's tough measures to help repay it's massive debt. The public sector doesn't like it so they are striking and hurting one of their largest sources of income: tourism. If you were caught in the middle of a vacation while everything from ferries to public services was disabled because the people believe they deserve more, well you're just not going to return to Greece for a vacation again. If the people don't like what the government is doing understand why and pick another means to protest. Don't destroy the tourism industry that has kept Greece alive for so long. scuter
People are generically incapable of acting in their own best interests when their best interests are only really evident when viewed wearing macroeconomic or "big picture" goggles. The Greeks rioting against measures required by the lending nations who are saving Greece from bankruptcy....are simple, mindless creatures only a couple levels above primates. They can't be expected to comprehend such complexities. Or think more than one chess move in advance. Or think about the future at all. Not when it's more satisfying to riot and burn and destroy.
