Randomkid199
Hi all, I recently fell into the Facebook Ad trap and clicked a link to 2 online casinos, B W & S C (I have purposefully obscured the names as I don't want to drive anyone there) After depositing around £300 between them (winning £184 on one) they have refused to pay out without a valid passport picture and have closed the account. I have read and reread the terms and conditions and they state they are 'self regulated' (yeah I messed up big time) and that they don't accept players from the UK (urg, Always read the T's & C's). this being said when I signed up i used my UK address and was allowed to sign up and play and deposit on the site. Since they closed the accounts I have spoken to both companies: SC: 'If a player signs up you agree to the terms of use on the website, meaning if you sign up you will no longer fall under the UK jurisdiction' BW: Me: Please refund my deposits. Them: we cannot process a refund without a valid passport photo. *closed account* funds are locked to the account. (chats are abbreviated but I did get screenshots before closing as evidence) My question is, if I went to my bank to issue a charge-back on these casinos, as I truly believe them to be a scam with no hope to withdraw, with this evidence, would I be successful? I know a lot of people will say "you deposited, you lost get over it" but as a gambler I play at casinos and lose and move on I get it, that gambling, but this felt like entrapment and they know the scam they are playing. I don't trust them to send photos of my passport to try to retrieve the funds owed. Should I take the hit and move on or contact my bank and try to recover these deposits? TIA! casinowizard
Quote this being said when I signed up i used my UK address and was allowed to sign up and play and deposit on the site. Common practice in shady casinos. They'll allow you to register and make a deposit. Perfect setup to take your money. Take this as a valuable lesson and move on. It's always better to look for online casinos in sites like Askgamblers, The Casino Wizard, Casino Guru, etc. Forget about those shady casinos that you see in Facebook ads.
