  1. I watched a program on TV last night about the increase of online gambling in the United Kingdom over the last couple of years and it showcased a few people who had "fallen into the trap" and have ended up breaking up their families because of online gambling...and it went on to blame the actual casinos and betting shops as opposed to the actual players. It had this 70 year old woman who was £100,000 in debt because of loans she had taken out to feed her addiction and she blamed the casinos for not alerting her of her problem!!!! ALERTING HER OF HER OWN PROBLEM! THESE PROGRAM'S OUTRAGE ME THEY REALLY DO. I strongly believe an addiction is down to the individual and no one else. No one forces them to gamble and take out loans, why should it be down to the casinos to recognise you have an addiction?? I know that's easy for me to say but why should it be up to the casinos to all of a sudden tell a player...wait a minute we can't let u deposit here anymore we think u have a problem. I know all casinos have this 'reasonable gambling' thing..well actually I'm lying I have no idea what it is but it has something to do with this coz they were on about it on the program...I was too busy moaning to valleys at this point though lol. I love gambling online, having the odd flutter, but I value my life and my family too much to ever put that at jeprody by taking out loans and getting into thousands of pounds worth of debt just to feed my love of gambling, and god forbid I ever knew knew anyone who did do it...I certainly wouldn't blame the casinos...I'd blame the person, a bit of harsh truth is what they need to help them come back to normality. I just feel that the more emphasis people are putting, when they have gambling addictions, on casinos being at fault is going to tighten up the rules of online gambling for us all...and ultimately ruining it for the majority of us who are able to control our urges. I'm sure I've probably caused some huge debate now..and I hope I haven't offended anyone its just so etching that gets right on my wick!!! Anyone else have any views?
  2. Hi everyone, " Self exclusion If you believe you have a gambling problem or just wish to take an enforced break from gaming, Dafapoker gives you the power to permanently exclude yourself from playing at Dafapoker. If you choose to exclude yourself permanently, you will be barred from playing games at Dafapoker. All you need to do is contact our Customer Services team." Dafabet re-opened my account just after 2 weeks from my permenantly self exclusion request. They are refusing to pay my loses but their rule is very clear above. I know that i have asked them to re-open when but i guess gaming companies should be very sensitive and restrictive for those permanent self exclusion requests. Here is the e-mailing history; Sent:Fri 8/03/12 3:09 PMTo: [email protected] Hi, Username:xxx DOB: xxx Address: xxx Please close my account permenantly for self exlcusion. Thank you. Regards, After they have reopened and I asked them to compensate my loses (because if they did not open, I wouldn’t have played and lost and they shouldnt have opened the account !) they responded like that; Thank you for choosing Dafa Poker! Management has taken a look at your account and note that in your original request for closure it was not mentioned that you have a gambling problem so therefore your account was able to be re-opened at your very specific instructions this morning. We are unfortunately unable to refund your recent deposits as the account was re-opened at your own request along with being played by yourself. Had you been fortunate enough to win like in the past, we would of course been required and willing to cash you out on request (just as we did the last time you requested account closure after a win). Now that you have clearly disclosed to us your gambling problem we have permanently closed out your account and will take all due care to ensure it is not re-opened however should this or any other account be played by yourself in the future we hold no responsibility for losses occurred by yourself in doing so. And, here is my reply to them; You are saying that " in your original request for closure it was not mentioned that you have a gambling problem so therefore your account was able to be re-opened at your very specific instructions this morning " What does "Please close my account permenantly for self exlcusion. " mean then? " permenantly for self exlcusion" ?? Self exclusion If you believe you have a gambling problem or just wish to take an enforced break from gaming, Dafapoker gives you the power to permanently exclude yourself from playing at Dafapoker. If you choose to exclude yourself permanently, you will be barred from playing games at Dafapoker. All you need to do is contact our Customer Services team." Even i have asked you to exclude me from your site permenantly in my email ( marking permenantly in bold ! ) , why did not you manage to exclude me and re-opened my account? Is it matching what is written above in your terms and conditions and what you have done ? Well this is their fault and those kind of responses are not good for a big company like that. They need to accept their fault and compensate my loses and they should never ever let the permenant self excluded players to play again !(even aster 2 weeks time!) Am I wrong guys?
