  1. No questions were posted and one must thus conclude that you guys know everything you need already We see no further use of this thread and motions for it to be closed. No Q&A will be held in the future but Thunderkick will still answer the odd question now and then as we see fit (in other threads, this one is dead to us).
  2. "My name is Legion, for we are many..."
  3. For Thunderkick games, only we (the software provider) has the ability to alter the math (and thus the RTP). Doing so would be considered an incident and as such must be reported and approved by the licensing body. Any change in RTP value (let's say from 96% to 95%) must also be reflected in an update of the rules accompanying that game.
  4. Do you know how casino games work? No. Would you like to know? Then this is the thread for you. We at Thunderkick have a proposal to you all. If you post a question about Thunderkick, our games or the casino industry in general, we will attempt to answer it. We will, for starters, answer one question at the end of every month (roughly). That is it. You game? UPDATE: We removed the provisions in an act of good faith. We would still like to see screenshots of big wins from our games accompanying the question but it is no longer required.
  5. The (Theorethical)RTP is fixed as of the moment the game has been through the certification process. Once the game is exposed to players, no manipulation of the RTP is allowed without the approval of the relevant licensing body (MGA, Aldernay, AAMS, UKGC etc). So in practice it is impossible for us to change the RTP of a released game without risking the licence. Only in the case of a bug in the math will we take the steps necessary to fix and re-certify an already released game. Some casinos have in their EULA a protection clause that caps wins to a certain monetary value. That is purely done to protect the casino from going broke from one lucky high roller. Such caps may have an adverse affect on the actual RTP but only in the very slightest as such wins are incredibly rare and generally only affects the extreme high rollers (those bettings 200$ or more per spin). Hopefully this answers your question.
  6. You can always ask. If it is a question that is of a "zipped lips" nature we will tell you why that is. We will only answer a question that involves us directly or the casino industry in general. Legal stuff you know.
  7. Thunderkick just went MOBILE! Esqueleto Explosivo has been successfully ported to a mobile format. Let the fiesta spread across the world! More games will follow shortly. As a bonus in these happy days, Thunderkick will answer one question (within reason) from the player base regarding slot construction.
  8. It is indeed based on Gonzo Pizarro. Some of Thunderkick's staff had a previous engagement with NetEnt and know this first hand. This is no secret. (Stockholm is a small place sometimes.)
  9. Regarding Yggdrasil and their game we have no information about how it works but from your description it sounds as if they randomize every bonus spun outcome in advance and then just show them in the client one after the other. The are certainly some benefits to this approach and it will not change the randomness one bit compared to Thunderkick's approach (which is more in line with NetEnt's solution). The downside is that if the casino is informed about the result before the client has shown it and the casino shows an achievement it will give the game away so to speak. And that seems to be the case here.
  10. The win-switch strategy will not help one bit. The odds of hitting two huge wins after each other is equally low if you play the same slot or switch to a new one (assuming the two slots have similar payout structures). Just thought we game developers could chip in on this discussion
  11. Some regulated market have imposed maximum bets per spin and maximum bets placed over time. They also have mandatory breaks (once per hour of play). Most responsible casinos also adhere to the G3 group which stipulates additional, albeit voluntarily implemented rules and regulations. But what is clear is that there are super rich players out there who can afford massive bets and they want to play online. So having super high bets (like $200 per spin or more) is necessary to attract those players. In the end, it must be up to the player to decide whether he or she can afford to lose money by gambling (and you will all lose in the end, that is the truth). Too much regulations will only push the market underground making it less safe.
  12. And we appreciate you for that just as much as we do the super-high rollers
  13. It is for real. We have players betting 200 EUR per spin and they make thousands of spins a day(!). One of the players at Casumo is betting on max bet on Esqueleto Explosivo and she plays all the time. Some people have deep pockets...
  14. Another great birds show (Click to watch replay). PS. Due to a small bug in the replay playback engine for that version of the game (1.3.0), the bet is incorrectly shown as 300 Euro while in reality the bet was 300 BRL (Brazilian Real) which is roughly equivalent to 90 Euro. The rest is correct though
  15. Personally, when testing the game Flux, I (the Thunderkick employee answering this question) had a single bonus game spin paying 600x bet. It is not a 1000x bet but that was on a SINGLE spin in the bonus game (the right-most one). I also have had bonus game good runs in Börk, Sunny Scoops and Fruit Warp. The day before Arcader went live, I had a bonus game at X3 which payed me ~400x bet (I haven't hit the X9 yet). Ok, enough with the personal anecdotes. In our big automated payout tests that we run in order to make sure we have the logic down to a teeth, most of the games have showed wins well above x1000 bet with some of them far, far above that. Does that mean that you, luckyloser, will ever see such a win? Probably not, unless you play a lot. That is just how it has to be. Otherwise, those few ultra wins would take too much of the payout and leave too little for the rest, causing all but a few to complain of a non-paying game. You just can't have the cookie and eat it too. PS. In-house record for Fruit Warp is 2701 x bet. And that is still far from what we have measured in our big automated tests.
  16. Don't be too sure about that Afi. There is always the Mongols. They hardly season at all. Very nice people, just not the stereotypical Asians.
  17. Sunny Scoops can have a few dead spins for sure since it is a volatile game. Fruit Warp is not volatile in the base game but most of the payout is in the fruit modes so if you don't get those the game will probably take your money (unless you are in the zone, right Afi ). That is just the nature of games with such a payout profile. Whether or not you need a massive 2000x bet or just x100 to recover really depends on your amount of luck. Most times, a few big wins or mega wins will be enough to put you ahead for the day (or month). But if you bet hard on a game with the intention of winning a life changing amount, you will mostly likely come out of most video slots feeling disappointed. Now for some statistical considerations: If you have a game with a hit frequency of 1:3 there is a 1:9 chance of winning twice in a row but 4:9 in loosing twice in a row. So clearly, the dead spins will be much more frequent than the winning streaks. But those dead spins pay for the less frequent higher winnings. And what about bonus games? If you want to have a bonus game happen 1:XXX spins, how much payout can you put into it? Put to much, and the base game will suffer, causing many players to not win enough to experience the full game, and probably they will leave the game unsatisfied. Put to little, and those who do win the bonus game(s) will not win enough to feel satisfied. Have a too infrequent bonus game and people will complain about not winning the bonus game(s) often enough. At Thunderkick, we try to build slots with different profiles to attract different kinds of players. Some games have (generally speaking) big payoffs in the bonus games. Some have less of that and put more into the base game. Some keep the features to a minimum and focus on the base game. Some try to balance multiple features (such as Flux and Arcader) while keeping that chance of a massive payout (as with Arcader's X3 and X9 bonus game modes). The balancing of payout, features and hit frequency is very hard and even with years of experience we still learn new things every time we make a slot. Cheers! /Thunderkick
  18. Was this you ValDes? Go bird watching (In-game replay from yesterday of a player's big win on Birds on a Wire).
  19. - Well, that would mean less bonus games for you (as in "the player") and then you complain of too few bonus games. - Arcader has higher multipliers for the bonus games if you hit the bonus game with 4 or 5 bonus symbols. - Esqueleto has an increasing win multiplier and that is cool and all but not all games can have that. - About the 8bit graphics: ...but, but we like 8bit graphics. (We also like the goats, just not when they appear in connection with one of our games) Having a basic bonus game (when triggered by 3 symbols) that pays 40+ your bet is not bad and the mystery game where you have the chance to pick your way to a high win (again, with higher multipliers if you hit the mystery with 4+ symbols) is also not bad in or book. The potential for big wins is certainly present in Arcader (especially in the bonus game when triggered by 4 or 5 bonus symbols). The risk of a duck egg is also there though so one must be prepared to take the good with the bad. Thunderkick out!
  20. To bad that the only person posting about Arcader was Afi with a bad run. Hopefully some other forum member will have the courage to try the game out and hopefully can provide us with a more positive review of the game.
  21. There are some slots out there that uses Full 3D (see below). On land based it is even more of them. Hasn't been a hit so far though in the industry. Pre-renderered 3D: 2D movies pre-rendered using 3D rendering techniques. Commonly used throughout online gambling (like in BetSoft's games). Real-time 3D: Having a 3D engine render the game in real time (like in Thunderkick's games). Used mostly in the video game industry (like XBox or PS3/4). Full 3D: Either Fake 3D or Real-time 3D that is projected using techniques that makes them appear to be in the physical world. Used in 3D cinema, like in "The Hobbit". Commonly requires the player to wear glasses or to be seated inside a limited angle range.
  22. Wow Afi. That was unfortunate. It could happen though. The Mystery wasn't too bad at 20 times bet. Please give it another chance!
  23. http://vimeo.com/113493433 Video of the game play for Arcader. Enjoy!
  24. Especially if they don't share any features, reel strips, pay lines, pay tables and overall look & feel. Just because a game has 8-bit graphics doesn't make it Super Mario Bros (talking NES console here for those too young to know).
