Whenever my balance would be low, I would usually play Starburst or Book of Dead games, but lately I'm not having much luck with either. Whenever you have a low balance or you play with low stakes, what are your go-to games?

With Pimped and Holiday Season, I always start playing with 2 or 3 lines. When the going becomes good, I would increase my bet size, but the number of lines remain the same. You get maximum game play time this way, minimise your losses, yet can maximise wins! Just have to wait for the wins to come! 

Fruit warp and tome of madness are also decent games on low bet. Multiple bonuses that pay even 50x are good enough to build your balance.

Age of the Gods Prince of Olympus, play with less lines, higher stake per line until the balance gets adjusted. Sometimes it will surprise with a feature and with the hydra bonus you get 110x if you get the Hercules rage and pick the x5...

I would do something similar too, that is, play on games that allow just 9 or 10 cents per spin.
As I'm almost entirely playing on Playtech games, like it or not, I still have to play with 10 - 15 cents bets, by reducing the number of lines as required. Generally, 9 and 10 liner games by Playtech give low payouts most of the times, very difficult to even get a 50x win, so I stick to my usual favourite games all the time.

I don't have a particular theme that I'm tired of, but lately I'm seeing so many dark-coloured slots with dark and negative themes and I hope that there won't be too many like this coming out.

Yep I agree, gambling is not what it use to be. All these new rules and regulations have taken a lot of fun out of it and quite frankly, IMHO, providers are NOT producing games like they used to. 
Where do I see the future? I think its bleak to say the least. I think markets will become so heavily regulated that it just won't appeal to people anymore. 
If providers decide to increase minimum stakes, low rollers will really struggle. Where I live the cost of living is so high now I don't have any spare money to play like I used to, and I'm afraid that is only going to get worse!

In the past year we're seeing lots of countries becoming regulated markets - such as Netherlands, Germany and many others. And with that comes changes in the provider's offering, for example many providers started offering RTP as low as 86% for the German market. Also many slot features are becoming unavailable for different markets (UK being the prime example of no bonus buy option etc). However, it looks like game providers keep releasing very volatile games, high-cost bonus buys that many players can't even afford to experience.  I think that in the next year we'll see even more regulated markets and even lower RTPs. What do you predict will change in the industry in the next year? It's safe to say gambling isn't what it used to be
