Bear in mind that bonus's are entirely discretionary and they can simply allow you to play without any - they really aren't all that. Esp from Betsson

If you want to tart yourself for some bonus's there are loads of sites for sign up's etc but the more you ask them the more likely you are to be cut off completely.

Personally i don't think it's worth the fuss.

I'm still glad I put in the complaint, as I would like them to acknowledge that there are not only state benefits in the statement I sent the but also a compensation payout of £17.5k and that is what they are ignoring. SO hopefully they will acknowledge it when replying to the complaint.

Last point - they have an obligation to 'interact' with the customer re RG so if they do have concerns etc they should actively be talking to you and allowing you the chance to respond etc

    We have been exchanging emails.

Probably falls under 'other' - either way, you can show where the funds are coming from so IMO that goes a way to discharging their AML obligations.

I just think, for RG reasons etc in their head, they've decided they don't folk just on benefits. Sounds harsh but i imagine that's it.

Worth a try. My account at Betsson was restricted in October but I am hoping they will still give me a bonus after all this... that's what it is all about... the site isn't that hot to play.

You have the right to complain but not sure what grounds you'd have tbh pal.

You could ask for clarification as to how they've processed your information - for RG or AML and, if applicable, say you supplied information for AML and they've used it for RG purposes which, strictly, may breach GDPR

Ok, I will try making a complaint on here, see what the reason is for ignoring my compo.

They shouldn't - if you look at the SOW/SOF etc it covers things like money from inheritance/house sales etc - not just 'regular' income.

Bit like me getting told because i earn 10k a year (for example) i can't afford 10k a month deposits and then for me to say 'But i won the Mega Moolah Jackpot'

Yeah well they are ignoring it... Thing is I have no reason to make a complaint really as no  money left in account.

As for compensation - if i earned 20k a year and was depositing 2k a week?

If i showed them the 20k a year but said 'My aunt gave me 800k in her will', that should cover them in terms of their AML responsibilities because they know where the money's coming from, so a comp payment should be the same: in that respect the salary (in the above example) or the benefits (in yours) becomes wholly irrelevant to an extent.

What your finding is that they've requested the SOW for AML but are now using it for RG and that's a bit of a no-no if they're processing that information

That's what I thought, So how can they just ignore the compensation payment? Should i write a complaint? Is there any point in doing that?  Just to get a bonus? I'm not that interested in depositing again in Betsson but I would have got a decent bonus for all my deposits.

So moving forward, are you leaving Betsson

The issue is if you have another big withdrawal are you not going to be in the same position when it comes to SOW?

I can't play at Betsson as I am not allowed due to my SOW... if I win at Casumo I will be allowed to keep my winnings just not deposit again if they do a SOW and reach the same conclusion. Or am I wrong?

Jesus man you need to start to find the withdrawal button....

They’re all different; if you make 50k of deposits in a day you might get hit with one, you make 50k over two years, possibly not. What’s your gambling budget?

SOW isn’t just based on deposits but how long they know you, your type of play and several other factors that may or may not push you into the high risk category

My budget is a ton a month.  Hopefully do well on Casumo... wish me luck!

Poor withdrawal times and low limits re withdrawals; wouldn’t touch 10Bet; far better out there

Casumo are good but are behaving a bit dodgy with their SOW requests themselves.

Personally iv had no problems with Casumo, Redbet, Video Slots. Depends what you’re looking for; offers, withdrawal speed, slot selection; each casino has their own perks for each of these for example

I've only deposited a tenner on  Casumo and I got a  full line of explorers on Book of Dead took me up to a ton... didn't make it to a withdrawal though... I wonder if they could prevent me from withdrawing with a SOW check. IS that possible?

As far as I remember Betsson aren’t that receptive when you ask for them. Not many casinos are these days. I probably get one offer every two weeks on some of my regular joints and even then you’re talking 50%.

In a few years or sooner I envisage them disappearing completely like Sweden.

Youre better off at somewhere like Casinocasino where you get Cashback etc that has no wagering or max cash outs IMO

I am fully with 10Bet and Casumo for the time being. Even though I have heard 10Bet aren't the best with withdrawal times. Have you heard anything about this?

    Hi @winalot007

I would recommend you play without a bonus. Wagering these days are ridiculous and I firmly believe with the Betsson group the wagering is applied on the bonus amount only. I think is x40 or x 20. I would suggest you ask them for some free spins with your next deposit, as the wagering is x15 and the best thing is that their free spins winnings have no max cash out at all.

I hope you come right and get lucky. Maybe give Casino Euro a try, as I play with them as part of the Betsson group.

Hi there, I can't actually play at Betsson until my financial life changes so I definitely wouldn't bother going with another casino in the group. I was just trying to get a goodwill bonus as I deposited so much there but no such luck.

Same indicator as if they notice a pattern of reversing and losing withdrawals (though that's somewhat of a cheek given that casino's allow you to), or failed deposits etc: they've been told to use all that info to make an assessment if there is a risk of a gambling issue.

I ask from time to time.. I think I will ask for a match bonus on my next deposit.

Keep in mind that whilst winning at a casino shouldn't affect your benefits, should it flag up to the DWP then they may start to scrutinise it as 'regular income'  - there was a court case years again about whether it constituted capital, income or earnings but i can't remember the details.

Whilst playing slots may not impact this much given their nature, if you engage in matched betting (using exchanges) I imagine there would be a bigger risk.

If you are above 6k in savings you get your benefits taken off you... and if yeah, if you hada regular income from gambling you would too. I unfortunately have neither right now... I am going to play a little next payday though see if I get lucky!

Knowing how they work man, that'll send their Responsible Gambling Team into a cold sweat - asking for one is deemed to be an indicator of gambling issues (and i kinda agree to an extent as a broad brush View) but if you used the words 'until i improve etc' they'll be having mild convulsions.

So asking for a bonus is a sign of gambling problems?

Wow! I can't believe they won't pay you because you are on state benefits. There is no protocol as to qhat you should spend your money on. Some people have to be on beneifts becasue they can't work  for whatever reason, some please claim benefits because they are sick or disabled. How can they say it is not a source of income. Are you from the UK?

Yes, I am. You would have thought they would give me a last chance.  These are the emails they sent to me.

and his friends saw what was happening and were telling him to set aside some of the millions but he didn't listen and went down to zero.

when he reached 40 million USD peak (couple million at pool then by winning at dice & Poker (maybe marking cards?), he ran out of players wanting to take him on at Poker thus he turned his action to dice), then he made the mistake of taking on baccarat where he went to lose 20 million USD in 10 days.

By the way some Chinese High Rollers these days are losing 10 million $ in 15 minutes at Baccarat.

Karas said this "Money means nothing to me. I don't value it. I've had all the material things I could ever want. Everything. The things I want, money can't buy: health, freedom, love, happiness. I don't care about money, so I have no fear. I don't care if I lose it."

A great story.. thanks for sharing. I may tell it as well.

    what about this guy

Anargyros Nicholas Karabourniotis commonly known as Archie Karas, is a Greek-American gambler, high roller, Poker player, and pool shark famous for the largest and longest documented winning streak in casino gambling history, simply known as The Run, when he drove to Las Vegas with $50 in December 1992 and then turned a $10,000 loan into more than $40 million by the beginning of 1995, only to lose it all later that year.

If I went to 28k and blew it all id seriously start asking questions about whether slotting is for me; don’t mean to sound Cheeky Casino but it’s either cos you can afford it or a lack of self control. Either way, it would sicken me and most folk.

I went up as fast as I went down and that was fast! It does sicken me but I thought I would go up and not down.  I was trying for a mega win.
