Thanks Blackjax, I have done so with their complaints procedure. They now have 8 weeks to respond ! If I feel their response isn't good enough I'll take it further. I know these safe guards aren't 100%. And maybe there isn't enough communication between both companies. But .... Allowing someone to deposit over £60k in one year with just one of them and no SOW isn't right. Then admitting they knew about previous site and encouraging to reactivate there, that's pure exploitation. We will wait and see

Hi Cocopop, Possibly, but probably not alot. Still waiting on a reply from them. Find it strange that they knew and acknowledged that I hadn't provided SOW on their sister site but let me gamble for 2 years on theirs. Then encouraged me to provide SOW and reactivate that sister account after I told them I had a gambling problem.

Hello all, I am a problem gambler, i have accepted the fact & am seeking help. Seeking help i discussed my problem recently & they think i should take some action against one operator. Which is why i am asking advice. I gambled on and off with multiple operators on and off over the years, sometimes heavy. But i though i had kicked the habit till below. (this is just seeking advice about my last) I have been with the same gambling operator since 2014. Betting on and off with them but nothing too ridiculous with them till the last couple of years when i got depression. this resulted in a marriage break up and all that nice stuff. That's when i started to bet more heavily with them! During the course of 2021 i deposited in the region of £60,000 with one operator which would be unusually very high with them. Maxing out my deposit limit in some cases daily! (£500) Not till Feb 2022 was i asked to complete a source of funds, by this time it was too late & had put myself in financial trouble. I told them that i couldn't complete source of funds because gambling had put me in debt. To which they sent me links to help sites etc & they closed my account a week later. The day after they closed my account they send me an email - "We’ve reviewed your account and unfortunately we need to close it, in line with our Terms and Conditions. This is because of an issue with your Mr xxxxx account. If you’ve been asked to submit documents or other information to Mr xxxxx, please do so – we’d love for you to keep playing with us."Thank you Account Relationship Team Wxxx Hxxx They say my account was closed due to me not providing source of funds to a sister operator i haven't used for 4 years. Not to the fact i was opening up about been a problem gambler & in debt! Also encouraging we to verify my old account with their sister company & continue to play! When i was seeking advice, they were shocked i had never been asked to provide proof of funds in 7 years & my escalated gambling with them in 1 year should have raised red flags straight away. Then the fact they are encouraging me to go back to a sister company & gamble again after admitting a problem! They think that this a major failing on behalf of the operator. I don't know what to do? should i take it further? I would normally not cause a fuss & have the attitude that it is my own fault, i have done this myself. But then, how many people do they do this to? Is it fair? If i say something will it help others or flag a failing? or is it even a failing? Your advice is welcome

Morning Valdes, The account closure agreement was an email they sent to me which I still have a copy of. I just took this extract from it We hereby confirm that a status of ‘Closed’ has been applied to the above account, so blocking your access to and future participation using the aforementioned account. Account Closure Agreement 1. Bets in play stand and payment of winnings will be made upon bet settlement 2. Your account(s) may only be considered for re-activation by Betway UK: • at your own request (contact must be by telephone or in person); and, if agreed, • after a 24 hour period has passed from the initial request.

Thanks Pinnit, I have made a formal complaint, if only to point out their short comings. My points were Failing to conform to account closure agreement. Set out in their own email. Failing to verify account properly or this would have been flagged? Failing a duty of care under responsible gambling. Would you agree? I also agree with you regarding personal responsibility.. you make bets you lose or win money. Simple really. But would they have paid out if I had withdrawn? I'm sure they would have called it a duplicate account and voided all winnings. I do feel they have been ignored their duty in this instance?

I'm going to lodge a formal complaint and see what happens. If i was a vulnerable person and had made the steps forward by closing my accounts. Received confirmation from them I could not play again only by phoning them and waiting 24hrs cooling off, I'd feel somewhat protected? But by been able to open, deposit and play for a day by just changing user name. I feel they failed badly under responsible gambling as well as not keeping to their own account closure agreement ?
-
Hi Pinnit, That's along the lines I'm thinking. They have stated the steps needed reopen account(s) and have a duty of care to make sure this happens. I could understand if someone went to lengths to conceal their identity but nothing bar user name. Actually that's another point, how have they verified account details without picking this up?

Hi all, Sorry haven't been around for a bit.. gave gambling a knock on the head for a while. I'm interested on people view or facts on this. In 2017 I closed an account with a provider, the reason I'm unsure of but probably losing money with them. I received an email stating the following. We hereby confirm that a status of ‘Closed’ has been applied to the above account, so blocking your access to and future participation using the aforementioned account. Seems clear? Blocked account, can't use them again until call? And 24hr cooling period? My question is, how has it allowed me to open a new account using the same Name & Surname, date of birth, same email address(that they sent closure confirmation to) same postal address and mobile number. All these were details on my closed account with exception of user name. Allowed to deposit and play all day yesterday. I'm on a principal thing with this not money and wonder if I should complain? If someone has closed their account/tried to give up gambling and had an email as above showing the measures in place before they could play again. Surely it is wrong for the provider to allow this happen & not conform to the conditions they have put in their own email?? Look forward to your views.

No never been asked... do everything on my debit card - so they can have a bank statement if they want it..... ha ha, i don't mind saying, we are all here to help each other... Normally £25,£50 or £100.... all depends on how i feel the game is playing.... £100 is max stake on Big bad Wolf, i think it's £50 on Gonzo.... i have tried Big bad Wolf on Spin Genie, stay clear.... game doesn't work properly into bonus round....
-
Afi4wins - i always play - Big Bad Wolf & Gonzo Quest Pinnit - Nope... only use 2 now... Giving up on Redbet.... Only using Mr Green & Unibet from now on.... never had any problems with them.... Piper89 - Agree fully, only ever bet what you can afford... i have also learned that the hard way....

ha ha ha..... sitting here lighting a cigar with a £50 note !!!........ I do gamble big ish, i know it's all meant to be random generated bla bla bla etc. but i have found over the past year... that betting big has been a better result for me. this morning i have done £1000 in one ... & £5000 in another..... result is £9500 withdrawal. I also only bet Monday morning, Tuesday morning, and Friday after 5pm..... strange but these are my win times
-
Wow.... i'm amazed by it.... i have never had the situation before... It's your money!! not bonus, shouldn't be allowed... even with normal betting, if you win you get your wager back... ie horse racing
-
Thank ValDes, Had another strange one this morning. Deposited £1000, played for a bit.. didn't have much luck & had to go out. Managed to get back to £1200 & withdrew.. Got a message saying it couldn't withdraw because i had not met the wagering requirement !!! Basically i had to wager the full deposit amount before i could withdraw ??? Never have i ever came across this!!!
